Three travelers were stopped at Caticlan Airport on Thursday after authorities flagged suspected irregularities linked to flight purchases made with fraudulent credit cards and the unauthorized resale of airline travel funds online.
The individuals had arrived in Boracay from Davao and were due to board a return flight to Davao when they were intercepted for questioning. Cebu Pacific confirmed it is working closely with the Philippine National Police as the inquiry continues.
In response to the incident, the airline reiterated that legitimate ticket sales are conducted only through its official website, mobile application, and accredited travel partners, which also provide access to its lowest guaranteed fares. Cebu Pacific cautioned travelers against dealing with unapproved sellers on social media, warning that such transactions can expose passengers to disrupted itineraries, added costs, or incomplete reservations.
The carrier emphasized that only its authorized platforms and affiliated agencies are permitted to sell valid Cebu Pacific flights. Bookings made through unauthorized channels may leave customers without proper tickets or accurate fares, and can prevent access to essential services such as online check-in, flight changes, refunds, or the addition of baggage and meals.
