TJ Monterde and KZ Tandingan give P100,000 each to world tour crew as surprise Christmas gift

What began as a casual team gathering quickly turned emotional when members of the Sarili Nating Mundo (SNM40) world tour were handed identical scratch cards—only to discover that every single one carried the same six-figure surprise.

The reveal was documented through a series of TikTok videos shared by TJ Monterde, showing crew members erupting in cheers, tears, and disbelief as they realized they had all received ₱100,000 each from Monterde and his wife, fellow OPM singer-songwriter KZ Tandingan. The moment followed the completion of the couple’s 40-show Sarili Nating Mundo world tour.

Addressing the team before the scratch cards were revealed, Monterde set the tone by saying, “Again, walang uuwing luhaan sa trip na ‘to,” before listing what appeared to be a range of possible prizes. “Ito yung mga premyo natin: meron tayong pitong winners ng ₱5,000, meron tayong limang winners ng ₱10,000, merong tatlong winners ng ₱20,000, merong dalawang winners ng ₱50,000, at merong isang may ₱100,000.”

Laughter, shouts, and whispered prayers followed, as team members hoped to land the highest amount. Tandingan then clarified the mechanics, holding up the scratch cards. “Hindi po namin alam kung nasaan dito [yung highest prize], magkamukha po lahat [ng packaging],” she said, assuring the group that no one knew which card held the top prize.

As the cards were distributed, one team member remarked, “Kung kanino man mapupunta ‘yun [₱100,000], deserve niya ‘yun.” Moments later, that sentiment proved true for everyone.

When the signal was given, the group scratched their cards simultaneously—only to realize, almost in unison, that all of them had won the same amount. “Happy SNM40!” Monterde said as the room erupted, with several team members crying, screaming, and hugging one another. Director John Prats was also seen celebrating with the group.

In the comments section of the video, Monterde later wrote, “DESERVE NYONG LAHAT! Ramdam namin ang puso nyo every single show, thank you guys ❤” He added, “TAYO AY LILIPAD 🚀.”

A follow-up video captured even more unfiltered reactions, with some crew members jumping from their seats and others overwhelmed by emotion. Netizens quickly filled the comment sections with praise for the couple’s gesture.

“Deserved ang sold out concerts palagi 🥹 Congrats and Merry Christmas sa lahat ng team SNM.🫶🏼🎉,” one comment read. Another wrote, “God bless you more TJ and KZ. Apaka busilak ng puso nyo 🥹❤️,” while a fan shared, “grabe damang dama ko ang saya naluluha na nanginginig pa parang naka 100k din ako😭😭😂🥰.”

Several members of the SNM40 team also expressed their gratitude on their own social media pages. Guitarist Makoy Portado posted on Facebook, “Finally pwede ko ng e post after 11 days haha. Sabi ko nga dito ‘Lord, ipanalo mo naman ako kahit ngayon lang. Di na man ako nagsusugal’ akala ko talaga 5k lang mapapanalonan ko eh haha kaya ayun PANALO LAHAT !!!! Salamat uli TJ Monterde Kristine KZ Tandingan kitang-kita sa reaction talaga namin ang saya. Salamat sa 13month bonus haha labyu !!!”

Makeup artist Ash Lei also shared her reaction, writing, “I’m thrilled to share that I just received an unexpected amount of 100K as a pamaskong handog from my one and only Ate Kristine KZ Tandingan and Kuya TJ Monterde and I couldn’t be more grateful! 🥹”

The Sarili Nating Mundo tour spanned 40 shows worldwide, opening with a three-night sold-out run at the Smart Araneta Coliseum last February before traveling across the Philippines and to Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the United States. Tandingan joined Monterde as a special guest throughout the tour, which officially concluded in Abu Dhabi, UAE on December 2.

During the tour’s Auckland stop, a playful budots dance challenge with the audience evolved into a spontaneous fundraising effort, raising more than ₱100,000 for earthquake victims in various parts of the Philippines.

Reflecting on the months spent together, Monterde previously described the bond formed within the group during a press conference last October. “Every week kasi kami magkasama so hinahanap hanap na namin ang isa’t isa, literal. Pag wala kaming SNM sa week na yun or mga two weeks na, yun, parang may mali. Maghahanapan kami. Mag-mi-meet up kami. Sobrang naging close na din kami talaga na halos lahat ng mga plano namin sa buhay, naging super close na rin kami,” he said.

Following the tour’s success, Monterde and Tandingan are set to return to the Smart Araneta Coliseum for their four-night In Between concert from February 6 to 9, 2026, with the first three nights already sold out and tickets for Day 4 going on sale starting December 15 via TicketNet.
