Maritime Academy tops 4th Robolution National as young innovators earn global slots

A maritime institution took the highest honors at this year’s Robolution National after a two-day showcase of student-built technologies drew competitors from across the country to Makati City.

The Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific emerged as overall champion of the 4th Robolution National, receiving a P40,000 cash prize along with a plaque and token. Don Bosco Technical Institute–Makati secured the overall first runner-up position with a P10,000 cash award, while Juan G. Macaraeg National High School placed as overall second runner-up and received P5,000 in cash, each accompanied by plaques and tokens.

Held on December 6–7, the national-level competition highlighted student work in robotics, engineering, and applied innovation, bringing together secondary and tertiary institutions in a series of technical challenges and invention-based categories.

Judging duties were carried out by an international and local panel composed of Ioannis Karouzakis and Tryfonas Mavroudi from Greece, alongside Caezar Angelito E. Arceo of the Department of Science and Technology–Technology Application and Promotion Institute (DOST–TAPI).

In a special citation, San Beda College Alabang received the DOST–TAPI Choice Award for Invention and Innovation in the Freestyle category, recognizing the project’s practical application and technical merit.

Winning teams from the national competition are set to advance to international robotics and innovation events, where they will represent the Philippines in Dubai, Turkey, Italy, Spain, Romania, Greece, and London in the United Kingdom.

The 4th Robolution National was hosted by ERovoutika Electronics Robotics Automation and co-hosted by Don Bosco Technical Institute of Makati, Inc., in partnership with the Philippine Manufacturing Co. of Murata, Inc., with support from DOST–TAPI, DOST-STARBOOKS, PhilSA, the Department of Education, ABS-CBN Programa Genio, and the Department of Information and Communications Technology.
