Dubai cyclists set for 24-hour charity ride to boost support for children with cancer

The upcoming ultra-endurance ride in Dubai is placing the spotlight on young patients whose families are struggling to afford critical cancer treatment. The initiative, held in partnership with LifeSpark Cycling, directs all proceeds to the Al Jalila Foundation, which provides medical assistance for children and backs research aimed at improving cancer care.

Set for 28 to 29 November 2025, the challenge pushes participants to complete 720 kilometers within 24 hours at the NAS Meydan Cycling Track. The format allows riders to continue up to 888 kilometers until 12:01 AM on 30 November, adding an extra layer of difficulty for those seeking to extend their distance. Event organizers have outlined a night-long effort beginning at 4 PM, with cyclists moving in rolling intervals from the first water station at an expected pace of about 36 kph.

The ride unfolds against a sobering backdrop: a child is diagnosed with cancer every three minutes worldwide, a truth that fuels the urgency of the campaign. As part of the broader observance of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, the effort highlights the heavy financial and emotional strain placed on families when a child falls seriously ill.

Al Jalila Foundation stresses that advances in cancer science offer renewed optimism, but sustained funding is essential to keep treatment accessible and research moving forward. The organization notes that 100% of the proceeds from this effort will directly support young patients and ongoing studies.
