74 Filipino Nurse Leaders Across 14 Countries Share Powerful Outlook for 2026
The Filipino Nursing Diaspora (FiND) Network successfully held its webinar on 25 November 2025, unveiling the results of “Optimism and Confidence 2026: The 3rd Global Poll of Filipino Nurse Leaders.” The virtual event gathered FiND Network’s leadership team and esteemed guests to hear insights from senior Filipino nurse leaders, marking one of FiND’s most significant knowledge-sharing engagements this year.
Conducted from mid-October to mid-November 2025, the global poll surveyed 74 Filipino nurse leaders from 14 countries, including the Philippines, Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland, Germany, Finland, and nations across the Gulf. Respondents, many with 16 to 20 or more years of nursing experience, hold senior positions such as Directors of Nursing, Chief Nursing Officers, Deans, Professors, Consultants, and Nurse Managers.
The presentation of results was led by Dr. Jerome Babate, Executive Director of the Filipino Nursing Diaspora Network, who emphasized that the survey provides a “global pulse” of how Filipino nurse leaders view the coming year. “This poll reflects not just sentiment,” Dr. Jerome shared, “but the strategic outlook of the Filipino nursing community at a time of transformation, innovation, and global opportunity.”

High Optimism and Strong Confidence for 2026
The survey revealed powerful indicators that Filipino nurse leaders remain hopeful and future-focused:
Optimism about the Nursing Profession (2026): 8.12 / 10
Optimism about the Filipino Nursing Community (2026): 7.99 / 10
Confidence in Nursing’s Global Impact (2026): 8.47 / 10
Confidence in Filipino Nurses’ Impact (2026): 8.09 / 10
These robust scores underline a deep belief in nursing’s essential role and Filipino nurses’ global visibility and influence. Respondents identified several major drivers of optimism, including global demand and job stability, the rise of Filipino nurse leaders, and strong support systems within diaspora networks.
Challenges Acknowledged, but Momentum Is Strong
While optimism is high, Filipino nurse leaders also pointed to ongoing challenges shaping the profession: burnout, unsafe staffing, limited policy representation, immigration barriers, and the persistent issue of low wages in the Philippines, driving brain drain.
However, despite these realities, respondents’ confidence in Filipino nurses remains firm. Their exceptional global reputation and the growing number of Filipinos entering leadership positions reinforce the sense that Filipino nurses are shaping health systems at multiple levels.
Voices from the Community
Event speakers echoed the sentiment of the survey. Opening the program, Irene Mayo, FiND Director for Engagement, described the poll results as a testament to Filipino nurses’ resilience and rising influence, saying:
“Our collective optimism and confidence reflect who we are—leaders, advocates, and changemakers in global healthcare.”
Quoting highlights from the survey’s open-ended responses, Dr. Jerome noted that many leaders view Filipino nurses as “pillars of global healthcare,” while others emphasized that “leadership is rising; advocacy is louder.” Several respondents also offered forward-facing perspectives on technology, noting that “AI will complement—not replace—nursing.”
Strategic Agenda: A Roadmap Toward 2026
The poll identified three major areas that will shape FiND’s strategic agenda for 2026:
Strengthening leadership development at all levels
Building greater diaspora unity across continents
Amplifying global achievements of Filipino nurses
These priorities will serve as FiND’s roadmap for programs, partnerships, and advocacy efforts in the coming year.
FiND President Reaffirms Commitment
In her closing message, Professor Violeta Lopez, President of the Filipino Nursing Diaspora Network, affirmed FiND’s responsibility to amplify the voices of Filipino nurses worldwide.
“These findings remind us that Filipino nurses are globally impactful. Our challenge—and opportunity—is to transform this optimism and confidence into action,” she said.
A Defining Year Ahead
As the webinar concluded, FiND leaders reiterated that the coming year will be pivotal. The 2026 outlook is clear:
High optimism. Strong confidence.
Filipino nurses rising in global leadership.
A profession moving through challenge toward transformation.
FiND looks forward to driving this momentum—and to supporting Filipino nurses everywhere in shaping the future of global healthcare.
