DMW issues reminder: Don’t share documents in online groups for overseas jobs

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) has issued a fresh reminder to Filipinos seeking overseas opportunities through its government-to-government (G-to-G) hiring scheme, urging applicants to avoid unofficial channels and to refer solely to verified sources for recruitment updates.

The advisory, released by the Pre-Employment and Government Placement Bureau (PEGPB), places emphasis on directing job seekers to the agency’s accredited sites and communication lines before any application is submitted. Officials highlighted that all manpower requests from foreign employers are posted on dmw.gov.ph, and applicants must wait for vacancy announcements to appear there before logging in to onlineservices@dmw.gov.ph
to file their documents.

The bureau noted that it is the only office authorized to coordinate with employers and client governments for G-to-G deployments, underscoring that no other individual or entity is permitted to transact on its behalf. The reminder comes as online platforms continue to circulate unverified recruitment information targeting hopeful applicants.

The advisory also pointed to growing concerns over social media groups—particularly those on messaging apps—collecting personal data under the guise of assisting G-to-G applicants. The bureau directed the public to steer clear of group chats, Viber communities, and similar online spaces that request documents or personal details.

In its message, the bureau urged the public to stick to verified points of contact: its official website, its recognized Facebook account, and its landline numbers 8722-1144 and 8722-1155. Any clarification on job postings or recruitment processes, it added, should be coursed through accredited staff only.

“𝐏𝐀𝐀𝐋𝐀𝐋𝐀! SA MGA APLIKANTE PARA SA GOVERNMENT-TO-GOVERNMENT FACILITY NG DEPARTMENT OF MIGRANT WORKERS,” the advisory opened, before laying out several reminders for those planning to apply as OFWs under the G-to-G program.

Among its instructions, applicants were told to regularly check the official website for employer requests, follow the bureau’s Facebook page for verified announcements, rely solely on the online portal for applications, avoid unregulated online groups, confirm information through official contacts, and consult only authorized personnel of the DMW regarding the G-to-G facility.
