Iglesia Ni Cristo plans three-day rally in QC to push for transparency

The Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) has informed the Quezon City government that it intends to hold a large-scale public demonstration at the People Power Monument from November 16 to 18, with the group projecting a turnout of roughly 300,000 attendees per day.

In a formal letter submitted to local officials, INC requested permission and logistical assistance for what it described as a “Peaceful Rally for Transparency.” The movement is framed around calling for openness and accountability in public institutions.

“The activity will be a peaceful and orderly public assembly, intended to promote transparency and accountability in governance and society,” the church stated. INC emphasized that the gathering will adhere to government rules and pledged to cooperate fully with authorities.

The religious organization also expressed readiness to coordinate with the city to finalize security, crowd management, and traffic plans ahead of the three-day gathering. According to the letter, church representatives are prepared to meet with local officials to ensure the event remains compliant with regulations.

The People Power Monument, located along EDSA in Quezon City, historically serves as a symbolic site for mass actions and demonstrations related to Philippine democratic movements.
