A desperate search is underway in Dubai’s Al Rigga area for Elsy, a missing female dog who escaped while being transported by a pet relocation company to a veterinary clinic for her pre-flight check-up. A reward of AED 5,000 has been offered to anyone who can help locate her.
According to one of the caretakers from the pet boarding facility where Elsy had been staying before her scheduled relocation to Singapore, the relocation company picked her up for the vet visit but never returned her. “We kept calling them, but our calls were not answered. We only found out from the owner that Elsy had gone missing,” the caretaker said.
“Elsy has never been on the streets before. She was rescued as a tiny pup, so she is extremely frightened,” said one of the caretakers involved in the ongoing search. “The area where she went missing is very busy, with many people, cars, and bikes. She has likely been hiding because she’s scared people might hurt her.”
Elsy, described as non-aggressive and very gentle, has a loving family with young children in Singapore waiting for her safe return. She was last seen near Al Ghurair Centre in Deira and may now appear thinner or dirtier than her poster photo after being missing for more than 10 days.
A small team of about 15 volunteers has been working around the clock to locate Elsy. “So far, we’ve shared her story across more than 300 groups and distributed over 1,000 flyers,” the caretaker said. “We’ve reached out to radio stations, local media, and translated our message into three languages, but we urgently need more help.”
Despite the challenges, the team remains hopeful. “We know she’s alive as we’ve been speaking to her via an animal communicator—to let her know she is loved, not forgotten, and that we are all working so hard to find her as soon as possible,” the caretaker shared.
Residents are urged not to chase or try to catch Elsy, as she might run away again. Anyone who spots her is asked to take a photo or video and immediately share the exact pin location by contacting the following numbers:

“We’re deeply grateful for any help and support to bring our lovely girl Elsy home,” the caretaker added.
