Vice Ganda moved to tears after seeing poor school conditions in Heart Evangelista’s hometown

Vice Ganda has gone viral after sharing how a visit to a public school in Heart Evangelista’s province deeply affected him and led him to extend help.

During a segment on It’s Showtime, the comedian revealed that he had traveled to a rural area in Sorsogon, where he found a local school in poor condition. “May pinuntahan akong lugar, do’n sa probinsya nila Heart Evangelista, na isang paaralan na walang reading materials,” Vice said.

Disturbed by what he saw, Vice said he immediately funded repairs and sent learning materials to the school. “Pinagawa ko ‘yung eskwelahan at nagpadala ako ng tulong do’n. Kasi walang reading materials, bulok ‘yung paaralan doon sa lugar nila Heart Evangelista,” he added.

Vice recounted becoming emotional upon witnessing how teachers and parents had to pool their own money to build makeshift classrooms for the students at Bagacay Elementary School in Sorsogon. He also helped install internet access, provided reading materials, and renovated the school’s bathrooms.

“I cried so much when I saw that school,” he said, emphasizing the need for stronger government support for schools and struggling families. “Kailangang ayusin ang paaralan. Kailangang tulungan ang mga magulang na mailagay sa paaralan ang mga anak. Kailangan ng tulong ng mga Pilipinong magulang mula sa pamahalaan.”

In a separate remark that drew online attention, Vice took a swipe at public officials misusing government funds. “Dapat sinusuportahan ‘to ng gobyerno e—mga tricycle drivers, solo parents. May pangsuporta sa inyo dapat e, kung hindi lang pinambili ng Hermes ng mga asawa at anak nila,” he said.
