Actor and television host Archie Alemania has been found guilty in the acts of lasciviousness case filed against actress-singer Rita Daniela.
According to PhilSTAR L!fe, the ruling was confirmed by Daniela’s lawyer, Atty. Maggie Abraham-Garduque, on Friday, October 24. The court sentenced Alemania to imprisonment of up to one year and ordered him to pay ₱20,000 in civil indemnity and another ₱20,000 in moral damages.
Atty. Abraham-Garduque told L!fe that they “are very happy” with the verdict, saying, “Rita fought and she attained justice. Thanks, God.”
The case stemmed from an incident that occurred on September 9, 2024, following a Thanksgiving party both actors attended. In her complaint filed a month later, Daniela alleged that Alemania made a vulgar remark toward her and later assaulted her when he offered her a ride home.
She detailed that while inside the vehicle, Alemania began touching her shoulder and neck, behavior she described as “uncomfortable.” When they arrived at her home, she said he forcibly kissed her and groped her despite her attempts to escape. Alemania later texted an apology, allegedly citing intoxication.
The actor denied the accusations in his counter-affidavit filed in December 2024 and entered a not-guilty plea in April 2025. The two previously worked together on the television series Widows’ War.
