SB19 dominates inaugural Filipino Music Awards with record-breaking wins

The “Kings of P-pop” lived up to their title as SB19 swept the inaugural Filipino Music Awards, taking home multiple major honors including the coveted Artist of the Year trophy.

The powerhouse group emerged as the night’s biggest winner, clinching Pop Song of the Year and People’s Choice Song of the Year for “Dungka!”, along with People’s Choice Artist, Tour of the Year, and Concert of the Year for their “Simula at Wakas” World Tour.

Held before a massive crowd of artists, music executives, and fans, the first-ever Filipino Music Awards was organized by Modern Media Group Inc. and hosted by Joey Mead King, Michael Sager, and Elijah Canlas. The ceremony honored excellence across genres while spotlighting the vibrancy of the country’s evolving music scene.

Among other major winners were Cup of Joe, who bagged Album of the Year for “Silakbo” and Song of the Year for “Multo”, and Sony Music Philippines, which earned Music Company of the Year.

The event also featured electrifying performances from top Filipino acts including SB19, Ben&Ben, Ely Buendia, Lolita Carbon, Yeng Constantino, Gloc-9, BGYO, BINI, Cup of Joe, and Maki.

Music icon Jose Mari Chan was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award, while the late Pilita Corrales received a posthumous Tribute Award for her enduring legacy.

Announced in August 2025, the Filipino Music Awards recognizes outstanding contributions determined through jury deliberation, commercial success, and fan votes — a fitting reflection of SB19’s continued reign in Philippine music.
