The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security (ICP) has introduced a groundbreaking innovation at GITEX Global 2025 in Dubai — the Smart Violators Car, a fully electric mobile surveillance unit equipped with artificial intelligence and real-time monitoring systems.
Designed to redefine field inspections and enhance visa and residency law enforcement, the smart vehicle features six high-resolution cameras connected directly to the ICP database. According to a Gulf Today report, these cameras can analyze faces within a 10-kilometer radius and identify up to 50 individuals in seconds by matching facial and iris data with official records.
The eco-friendly vehicle aims to support inspection teams in detecting violations faster and more accurately, while also enabling on-site processing of fines. Offenders identified through the system can pay penalties immediately, with facial data retained for only 24 hours after capture to safeguard privacy.
ICP representatives demonstrated how the car integrates AI analysis with regulatory operations during the exhibition. Live scenarios displayed on an interactive screen showed how predictive technologies and real-time data connectivity allow the system to automate decision-making and respond swiftly to violations or emergencies.
Beyond surveillance, the smart vehicle can also record fingerprints of residents aged 15 and above, contributing to safer and more efficient enforcement. It is scheduled to officially enter service in early 2026, marking another step in the UAE’s commitment to smart governance and sustainable innovation.
