The Supreme Court has turned down Duterte Youth’s request to stop the Commission on Elections (Comelec) from cancelling its registration as a party-list organization.
In an en banc resolution dated September 30, 2025, the high court denied the group’s appeal for a temporary restraining order, as well as its motions for a writ of preliminary injunction and status quo ante order.
The tribunal also refused to grant Duterte Youth’s plea for a special raffle, despite the group’s claim of urgency.
Duterte Youth filed its petition on September 3, 2025, nearly a month before Comelec proclaimed Ang Probinsyano, Abono, and Murang Kuryente as the official replacements for the three congressional seats previously assigned to the organization.
The petition contested Comelec’s June 18 and August 29, 2025 resolutions that formally revoked Duterte Youth’s accreditation.
Although the court dismissed the request for temporary relief, it directed Comelec and private respondents—Reeya Beatrice Magtalas, Abigail Aleli Tan, Raainah Punzalan, and Aunell Ross Angcos—to file their comments within 10 days.
