Eight people lost their lives and two others were injured in a devastating two-vehicle collision in the Wilayat of Duqm, Oman, authorities confirmed on Thursday.
The Ministry of Health reported the fatalities following what it described as a “major traffic accident.” Emergency teams responded to the scene to assist the wounded and recover the victims.
Shortly after the incident, the Royal Oman Police announced that a man of Asian nationality had been apprehended for recording and sharing footage of the accident. The video reportedly showed the bodies of those killed in the crash.
Authorities stressed that legal action is being taken against the individual for violating privacy and showing disrespect to the deceased.
