The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) extended ₱5,000 in financial assistance to 620 families of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) affected by recent typhoons and floods across 12 municipalities in Bataan. The aid distribution was held at the Bataan People’s Center in Balanga City under the Agarang Kalinga at Saklolo para sa mga OFWs na Nangangailangan (AKSYON) Fund.
During the event, the DMW also formalized a partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), and the Provincial Government of Bataan through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA). The collaboration aims to strengthen efforts in protection, empowerment, and reintegration programs for migrant workers and their families.
Present at the activity were Bataan Governor Jose Enrique S. Garcia III, Vice Governor Ma. Cristina M. Garcia, DMW Regional Director Marion S. Sevilla, and representatives from DOLE, TESDA, and OWWA.
