Comedian Ate Gay (Gil Morales) has given a hopeful update on his health, revealing that the lump in his neck has significantly reduced after undergoing radiation therapy.
In a recent video posted on Facebook, the veteran performer shared his gratitude and joy as he reported noticeable progress in his recovery.
“Wala na akong bukol, konting-konti na lang. Thank you Lord, I love you po,” Ate Gay said with visible relief and emotion.
The comedian was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer earlier this year, a revelation that left fans and fellow artists deeply concerned. Before this latest health development, Ate Gay disclosed that the illness began as facial swelling—something he initially thought was a simple infection. Subsequent medical tests later confirmed a severe condition that doctors described as incurable, with surgery deemed no longer possible.
During past interviews and benefit events, Ate Gay also mentioned that his doctors suspected mucoepidermoid carcinoma or squamous cell carcinoma, both aggressive forms of cancer that affect glands or epithelial tissues. Despite the grim diagnosis, he has consistently expressed his desire to keep fighting. “Gusto ko pa mabuhay,” he earlier told supporters during his emotional public appeal.
His latest message of thanks marks a significant turn from the fear and uncertainty that surrounded his initial diagnosis. Over recent months, friends from the entertainment industry—including Allan K, Vice Ganda, and Ogie Diaz—have extended help and organized benefit shows to support his treatment.
