Cup of Joe stripped away theatrics and let authenticity take center stage in the newly released music video for their song “Sandali,” a heartfelt anthem that coincides with their seventh anniversary as a band.
The video, a fusion of live rock energy and playful animations, captures the group performing together as they embrace their evolution both as artists and friends. Vocalist Gian Bernardino stepped behind the camera for his directorial debut, while co-vocalist Rapha Ridao contributed to the concept. Fellow members Gab Fernandez, CJ Fernandez, and Xen Gareza also lent their voices for the first time — a milestone for the group.
In the video’s YouTube description, Cup of Joe shared the deeper meaning behind the project: “To mark our 7th anniversary, we present ‘Sandali’ — a song that holds a lot of meaning for us. It’s a quiet promise to one another, and to all of you who’ve stayed, listened, and grown with us through the years.”
They added, “This music video is a reflection of who we are — not just as a band, but as people who’ve been through so much together. No characters, no complex narratives — just us.”
“Sandali” also serves as the official soundtrack of Cup of Joe’s sold-out “Stardust” concerts at the Araneta Coliseum this October — a prelude to the group’s much-anticipated Dubai show on November 29 at the Coca-Cola Arena, part of their Stardust World Tour.
“We hope this gives you a glimpse of the feeling, energy, and heart we’re bringing to the show,” the band said.
Cup of Joe rose to fame through hits like “Multo” from their debut album Silakbo, which entered the Billboard Global 200 earlier this year — a testament to their growing influence in OPM’s new wave.
