Dubai opens sign-ups for 30-day fitness challenge this November

Dubai has officially opened registrations for the ninth edition of the Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC), running from November 1 to 30, 2025. The month-long initiative calls on residents and visitors to dedicate 30 minutes a day to physical activity for 30 days.

Launched in 2017 by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, DFC has grown into a city-wide movement. Last year’s edition saw 2.7 million participants — a 244% jump in engagement since its inception.

The 2025 challenge, themed “Find Your Challenge”, coincides with the UAE’s “Year of Community” and encourages people of all ages and abilities to explore new ways of getting active.

This year’s line-up brings back flagship events, including:

Dubai Ride presented by DP World on November 2

Dubai Run presented by Mai Dubai on November 23

Dubai Stand Up Paddle presented by RTA at Hatta Dam from November 8–9

For the first time, Dubai Yoga will join the series on November 30, closing the challenge with a citywide mass yoga session.

Participants can also access free workouts at three dedicated Fitness Villages, community hubs, and thousands of group classes across the city. International sporting events such as Dubai Premier Padel P1, Dubai T100 Triathlon, DP World Tour Championship, Baseball United, and the Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens will run alongside the challenge.

Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of the Dubai Sports Council, underscored the impact of the initiative: “The simplicity of the 30×30 concept — 30 minutes of daily physical activity for 30 days — continues to inspire people of all ages and fitness levels to prioritise their health and wellbeing. Beyond the events themselves, DFC is building a powerful legacy — fostering lifelong healthy habits and encouraging a mindset where fitness is part of everyday life.”

The initiative is organised by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism and Dubai Sports Council, with support from partners including DP World, Dubai Municipality, Mai Dubai, and the Roads and Transport Authority. Registration is free through the official Dubai Fitness Challenge website.
