Parkin to create over 3,000 new parking spaces in Dubai Sports City

Parkin, Dubai’s largest paid public parking operator, has secured a 10-year contract to manage parking facilities in Dubai Sports City, Khaleej Times reported.

The project will deliver a total of 3,100 new parking spaces across paved, unpaved, and unsurfaced areas. Construction is set to begin in the fourth quarter of 2025, with the first 900 paved slots expected to be operational by December 2025. Work on the remaining 2,200 spaces will start in January 2026 and is scheduled for completion by the end of that year.

Under the new system, parking fees will apply from Monday to Saturday between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. Motorists will be charged AED 2 per hour or AED 20 for a full day. An annual seasonal card will also be available for AED 2,800. These rates will remain fixed for the first three years, with possible adjustments afterward.

According to Khaleej Times, Parkin projects revenues of AED 40 million to AED 50 million over the 10-year period, with a breakeven expected in about four years. The company is funding the project, estimated to cost between AED 18 million and AED 20 million, and will also handle all civil works, including new road construction and converting unpaved lots into paved parking areas.

Parkin will maintain the completed facilities—covering parking spaces, roads, and footpaths—throughout the contract. Maintenance expenses are not expected to have a significant financial impact.
