The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) has rolled out the Pilot Kaalaman Scholarship—a new program designed to help repatriated and returned overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), as well as their families, build careers in the healthcare sector.
Spearheaded by the DMW–National Reintegration Center for OFWs (NRCO), in partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and Dr. R.A. Fernando School of Healthcare Technology, the initiative seeks to upskill Filipino workers and provide them with opportunities in one of the most in-demand industries.
The scholarship offers training in six specialized areas: Paramedics for Medical Practitioners, Emergency Medical Service NC II, Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC), Caregiving (Elderly) NC II, Hilot (Wellness Massage) NC II, and Telediagnostic Services.

Participants can choose from three modes of learning—physical, online, or blended—depending on their needs and availability.
According to the DMW, the program was created to give OFWs and their families a chance to achieve a brighter future through education while strengthening the pool of highly skilled Filipino healthcare professionals.
Updates and detailed application guidelines will be shared through the official DMW Facebook page.
