A Filipina working in Abu Dhabi has been named one of the six winners of Dear Big Ticket Season 3, taking home Dh100,000 after her inspiring wish captured public support.
Alejandra Pura Fodra, 54, has lived in the UAE capital for 25 years and currently works as a nursery assistant. Like many other overseas Filipinos, her life took a difficult turn during the COVID-19 pandemic when her husband lost his job and their children had to return to the Philippines. Since then, her greatest dream has been to bring her family back together.
“I was scrolling through Facebook when a Big Ticket ad suddenly popped up, and I decided to give it a try. My husband and I have actually been purchasing tickets for the past 11 years. I can’t believe the day has finally come that we’ve won. After countless prayers and so many attempts, it has finally happened. I’m completely speechless, Big Ticket has granted my wish,” Fodra said.
She added that the prize money will be used to reunite her family, something she has long prayed for. “This has been my prayer for so long, and even talking about it now makes me emotional. I will continue to purchase from Big Ticket, and I want to say a heartfelt thank you to the Big Ticket team for making my dream come true,” she said.
The competition, reported by Khaleej Times, asked UAE residents to share their most meaningful wishes across categories such as health, education, housing, business, and family. The final winners, chosen through public voting, each received Dh100,000 to make those dreams a reality.
