Emirati sisters killed in tragic Al Ain car crash

Two Emirati sisters lost their lives in a fatal road accident in Al Ain on Tuesday, September 23, leaving their family and community in mourning.

The victims were identified as Iman Salem Marhoon Al Alawi and Amira Salem Marhoon Al Alawi, both in their thirties, according to the UAE funeral service account @Janaza_UAE on Instagram. Reports from Arabic daily Al Khaleej said the crash occurred in the Oud Al Toba area when a vehicle driven by a young Arab man veered out of its lane and collided head-on with the sisters’ car.

One of the women was six months pregnant at the time of the accident. Her husband, grieving the loss, said he accepted God’s will but appealed to young motorists to respect speed limits to prevent such devastating tragedies.

The funeral prayer was held on Wednesday at Al Shaheed Omar Al Maqbali Mosque in Um Ghafa following Asr prayers, after which the sisters were laid to rest at Um Ghafa cemetery.
