Abu Dhabi worker wins nearly AED 300,000 in unpaid wages and benefits case

An Abu Dhabi company has been ordered to pay nearly Dh296,000 to a former staff member after failing to settle years of dues, according to court documents cited by Gulf News.

The employee, who served the firm for close to three decades under a fixed-term contract, filed a complaint with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation when his wages and benefits were withheld. Efforts to resolve the matter through mediation collapsed, pushing the case to the Labour Court.

He sought Dh111,047 in unpaid salaries and Dh195,000 in end-of-service gratuity. Earning a monthly basic salary of Dh6,500 and total pay of Dh11,500, the man argued that he was dismissed without receiving his rightful compensation.

The court ruled fully in his favor, directing the company to settle the entire amount of Dh295,589, marking a decisive win for the long-serving employee.
