Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has confirmed that all public parking zones across the emirate will be free of charge on Friday, September 5, 2025, in observance of Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) Birthday.
The RTA clarified that this free parking initiative applies to all public surface parking areas, offering motorists a convenient reprieve for the religious holiday. However, the free parking does not include multi-level parking terminals or the Al Khail Gate Parking (code N.365), which will continue to follow regular paid schedules.
The temporary waiver coincides with the UAE’s official public holiday for both government and private sector employees, granting many residents a three-day weekend from September 5 to 7.
According to the UAE government’s unified holiday calendar, Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday—also known as Mawlid al-Nabi—is commemorated annually on 12 Rabi al-Awwal in the Islamic calendar. For 2025, this date aligns with Friday, September 5, following lunar observations.
Paid parking services will resume on Saturday, September 6, as per normal RTA regulations.
