OFWs in Dubai save nearly AED 75 with online contract verification system

Overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Dubai are now saving almost AED 75 each time they process their employment contract verification, thanks to the Department of Migrant Workers’ (DMW) Online Employment Contract Verification System (OECVS).

By eliminating the need to personally visit the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) in Dubai, OFWs no longer have to spend on transport and meals that usually come with a trip to the office. The OECVS, which has been operating for months, allows contract verification to be completed entirely online, making the process faster, more efficient, and cost-saving.

Reports from MWO-Dubai show that nearly 10,000 OFWs have already applied through the system, with thousands of contracts evaluated and approved. More than 5,000 Overseas Employment Certificates (OECs) have been directly delivered via email, further cutting down time and expenses for workers.

The DMW has also increased capacity to 3,000 weekly slots, supported by 30 contract evaluators working daily, including weekends. This expansion has eased foot traffic at the MWO office, which used to serve up to 1,000 clients per day during peak season.

With over 500,000 Filipinos working in Dubai, the system is seen as a major relief—helping OFWs keep more money in their pockets while ensuring that contract verification remains secure and accessible.
