Amid the controversy surrounding questionable flood control projects, engineer and former “Pinoy Big Brother” winner Slater Young has firmly denied any connection to government-funded contracts.
The clarification came after a netizen left a comment on one of his Instagram posts, accusing him of profiting from taxpayers’ money. “Did you also benefit from Filipino people’s tax money? I am disappointed,” the message read.
Young quickly addressed the remark by posting a screenshot on his Instagram Stories with the caption: “I do not have any government projects.”
He went on to emphasize that despite his two decades in the construction industry, he has not indulged in the kind of extravagant lifestyle linked to some contractors now under scrutiny. “The umbrella in my car was only a give away from a bank. Don’t me,” he wrote, stressing that he does not own luxury cars.
His post appeared to allude to Cezarah “Sarah” Discaya, a contractor whose companies were flagged in the Senate probe. Discaya admitted to owning a fleet of luxury vehicles, including a Rolls-Royce, Bentley, and Mercedes-Benz, and even revealed that she once purchased a car simply because it had a built-in umbrella.
