OFW from Kuwait arrested at NAIA over falsification case

What was supposed to be a vacation turned into a jail term for an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) who arrived from Kuwait at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1.

According to a report by Abante, the 37-year-old office employee landed in Manila on Thursday night intending to spend time in the country before returning to work abroad. However, operatives of the Philippine National Police Aviation Security Group (PNP-AVSEGROUP) and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) – NCR Southern Metro Manila District Field Unit intercepted him with an active warrant of arrest for falsification of public documents.

Authorities immediately brought the suspect to the CIDG office in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City for processing and further investigation. The case carries a bail of ₱36,000.

PNP-AVSEGROUP Director PBGen Jay Reyes Cumigad stressed that individuals with pending cases cannot evade accountability. He assured the public that law enforcement agencies will ensure that those facing charges will be brought to justice.
