QC and Naga renew sister city agreement

Quezon City and Naga City have once again strengthened their ties after formally renewing their Sister City Agreement on Tuesday, August 26.

Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte welcomed Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo and her delegation at the QC Hall to reaffirm the partnership that was first sealed in 2017. Belmonte explained that the renewed agreement will allow the two cities to expand their collaboration.

“Sa tulong nito, mas makakapagbahagi sila sa isa’t isa ng kani-kanilang mga best practice, at mas madaling makakapagpadala ng tulong sa panahon na ito’y kakailanganin,” she said in a post on social media.

The partnership highlights joint efforts in governance, social development, and exchange of programs that both cities can adapt and share. The renewal also comes with the vision of fostering stronger cooperation in times of need.

Sister city agreements in the Philippines are designed to promote goodwill, cultural exchange, and collaboration across sectors such as trade, technology, and public service. Quezon City currently has several local and international sister cities, including Davao, Iloilo, Salt Lake City in Utah, and Taipei in Taiwan.
