Korina Sanchez’s interview with Discaya quietly disappears from YouTube

An interview of Sarah Discaya by veteran broadcaster Korina Sanchez has mysteriously vanished from YouTube, sparking more questions amid the ongoing controversy involving the Pasig mayoralty candidate.

The episode, originally uploaded on January 5, 2025, through Net25’s channel under the title “A Victim of Bullying, Now a Politician,” was still viewable on the morning of August 22. By that same evening, however, the video had disappeared without explanation. In the interview, Sanchez had described Sarah as someone “binabaha ng suwerte,” a line that has since gained new weight as the contractor faces scrutiny over alleged irregularities in flood control projects.

The timing of the video’s removal coincided with the surge of online discussion after Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto’s Facebook post on August 21, which reignited public interest in separate interviews done by Julius Babao and Sanchez with the Discaya couple.

Following Sotto’s remarks, the producers of Sanchez’s show released a statement defending the host. They clarified that Sanchez only learned she was interviewing a mayoral candidate on the day of the taping, and that she had no direct dealings with the couple beforehand.

While the controversy continues, Sanchez herself has brushed off the criticism on social media. On an outfit post where netizens poked fun by asking if her attire was worth millions, she replied with humor: “Eh di P10M”—later raising the joke to PHP20 million.
