A major collaboration between three of the country’s biggest film outfits is underway as Star Cinema, GMA Pictures, and Regal Films announced a new project featuring rising stars Will Ashley, Dustin Yu, and Bianca De Vera, to be helmed by acclaimed director Mae Cruz Alviar.
The announcement was made by Star Cinema through an official post on social media, calling it a “cinematic event” that unites powerhouse studios and fresh talent. While the story and release date have yet to be revealed, full details are expected to air on TV Patrol and 24 Oras.
From TV to the big screen
This upcoming film brings together three young actors who have been making waves in both television and streaming platforms:
Bianca De Vera rose to fame with her performances in 2 Good 2 Be True and Unbreak My Heart. She recently made headlines after expressing her openness to projects with both Ashley and Yu, telling GMA News she’s “OK” to work with them if the opportunity arises.
Dustin Yu, recognized for Mano Po Legacy: The Family Fortune and a New Movie Actor of the Year award for Shake, Rattle & Roll Extreme (2024), also said that collaborating with Bianca and Will would be “interesting.” He and Bianca are already confirmed to appear together in a music video shot in Rizal.
Will Ashley, best known for Prima Donnas, Balota, and Unbreak My Heart, has also voiced his support for the trio’s team-up, saying he’s open to any project “as long as it’s good” and sees it as a chance to grow alongside his peers.
Further announcements, including the official title, plot, and release schedule, are set to be revealed tonight, August 21, 2025, through TV Patrol and 24 Oras.
