Kris Aquino reveals ‘alarming’ blood test result, asks public: ‘Please don’t stop praying’

Kris Aquino once again opened up about her ongoing medical battle, sharing that her doctors recently discovered “something alarming” in her latest blood tests.

In an Instagram post on August 19, Aquino said she went in for her second dose of Rituximab, an antibody medication, when Dr. Geraldine Zamora flagged a concerning result. “She convinced me to have an ultrasound [done] yesterday; with all my hospitalizations, I can already tell na dapat na kong kabahan pag umakyat na yung senior technician,” Aquino admitted.

The “Queen of All Media” explained that she immediately underwent three more tests under different specialists, stressing that any delay could put her life at greater risk. “Parang kulang pa ‘yung mahirap nang bilangin na ‘life-threatening’ autoimmune diseases ko,” she added.

Aquino also revealed that her doctors have been trying to understand why she continues to develop what they described as “difficult to detect possible health time bombs.” One key finding: she is allergic to all blood thinners.

Despite the challenges, Aquino said she is entrusting her treatment to Filipino doctors, who presented her with both invasive and non-invasive options. She disclosed that she has just completed “a big dose” of a strong immunosuppressant, on top of two other immunosuppressants, supplements, antihistamines, and vitamins.

The television personality shared that her youngest son, Bimb, has been struggling with sleepless nights since her recent confinement, while her eldest, Josh, paid her a visit.

In her message, Aquino asked the public to keep praying not only for her but also for her doctors, nurses, and medical team. “Wag sana kayo sumuko sa pagdasal dahil kumukuha ako ng lakas galing sa kabutihang loob ninyo,” she wrote, adding the hashtags #pleasewagsumuko and #tuloyparinanglaban.

Aquino has been diagnosed with multiple autoimmune diseases, including fibromyalgia, polymyositis, and mixed connective tissue disease. She had been receiving treatment in the United States since June 2022 before returning to the Philippines in September 2024.
