Brace yourselves: 14 days of extreme summer weather to hit UAE

The UAE is set to endure a harsh stretch of summer weather from today, August 11, until August 24, the Storm Centre has announced. Residents should prepare for sweltering heat, frequent dust storms, and stifling humidity, particularly in coastal areas.

For the next 14 days, strong northeast winds are expected to sweep across the country, carrying airborne particles and toxins that could worsen air quality and reduce visibility. Skies will be dominated by non-rain-bearing clouds, further trapping heat and pushing temperatures to their peak for the season.

Humidity levels will also climb sharply, intensifying the discomfort during this already challenging period.

Relief is forecast toward the end of the month when southern and southeastern winds begin to replace the prevailing conditions. Temperatures are expected to ease slightly, and evenings will feel cooler, offering some respite after the punishing heat.
