The Department of Migrant Workers – Regional Office VII (DMW RO-VII) has disbursed a total of ₱460,000 in financial aid to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their families residing in Mandaue City during a visit held on August 4, 2025.
Out of the total amount, ₱350,000 was distributed to five OFWs and their next-of-kin under the Agarang Kalinga at Saklolo Para sa mga OFWs na Nangangailangan (AKSYON) Fund, which provides immediate support to distressed migrant workers.
An additional ₱110,000 was allocated through the Livelihood Program for OFW Reintegration (LPOR), benefitting 11 repatriated OFWs looking to rebuild their livelihoods back home.
Mandaue City Mayor Thadeo Jovito M. Ouano warmly welcomed the visiting team from DMW RO-VII, led by Regional Director Jhoaden “Jao” G. Lucero, along with division chiefs and staff members. The courtesy visit aimed to explore potential collaboration between the agency and the local government to strengthen assistance programs for OFWs.
The DMW delegation also met with Vice Mayor Glenn O. Bercede, further expanding discussions on joint initiatives for migrant welfare.
