OFW dies of cardiac arrest while on bus trip home

An Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) who had just returned to the Philippines died while on a bus journey to her hometown, authorities confirmed on Monday, August 4.

The woman, identified as Wilma Auza from Manjuyod, Negros Oriental, was found lifeless and slumped in her seat by fellow passengers. According to accounts, she already appeared weak when she boarded the bus.

Photos circulating online showed the heartbreaking scene, with Auza leaning motionless during the ride. Recovered from her belongings were two flight tickets—one from Nagoya to Manila and another from Manila to Cebu—indicating she had just flown home from overseas.

Her brother, Ernest Auza, later confirmed that she died of cardiac arrest.
