Aspiring OFW entrepreneurs in the UAE are in for an exciting opportunity as the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC) – Dubai join the Bagong Bayani ng Mundo: OFW Serbisyo Caravan on August 3, 2025, at Exhibition Hall 8, Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC).
DTI’s participation in the one-day caravan aims to empower Overseas Filipino Workers by offering programs that promote entrepreneurship, business readiness, and financial literacy—especially for those preparing for reintegration or planning to establish businesses in the Philippines.

Key services offered by DTI and PTIC-Dubai:
- Franchising Opportunities
OFWs can explore various franchise funding programs through the Small Business Corporation (SB Corp)—a DTI-attached agency—supporting both new and existing micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
- Financial and Business Literacy Sessions
PTIC-Dubai representatives will be present to educate OFWs on financial management, investment basics, and practical tips to start or sustain a business.
- Loan Assistance via SB Corporation
Qualified borrowers such as returning OFWs and their families, or franchisees endorsed by SB Corp’s partner associations, can avail of:
- Up to 80% of the total investment venture (up to PHP 20 million)
- 0% interest on the first year
- 1% monthly interest thereafter
- Payable in 3 years, with a 1-year grace period
Requirements for loan applications include:
- Government-issued ID
- Mayor’s Business Permit
- DTI or SEC Registration
- Bank account proof
- Franchise endorsement or corporate documents, if applicable

This initiative falls under the DTI’s broader goal to support OFWs’ transition from employment abroad to business ownership back home. It complements the government’s reintegration efforts by equipping OFWs with practical tools, accessible financing, and information they can use to succeed as entrepreneurs.
The OFW Serbisyo Caravan will also feature services from PhilHealth, PSA, PAO, DSWD, Pag-IBIG Fund, SSS, OWWA, PCG Dubai, and MWO Dubai, consolidating key government services into a one-stop shop for Filipinos in the UAE.
