UAE named world’s safest country in 2025, beating over 130 nations

The United Arab Emirates has been ranked the safest country in the world in the latest Safety Index by Country 2025 Mid-Year report by Numbeo, scoring 85.2 points. This marks another major recognition for the UAE, which continues to set the standard in public safety and security worldwide.

Following the UAE in the top five are Andorra (84.8), Qatar (84.6), Taiwan, and Macao. Earlier this year, the UAE placed second, with Andorra leading the index. Now, the positions have switched, affirming the UAE’s steady progress in maintaining a secure environment for its residents and visitors.

The UAE, home to over 200 nationalities, is widely known for its high quality of life, robust law enforcement, and strict safety measures. Cities like Abu Dhabi and Dubai have repeatedly earned international praise for livability, healthcare, education, and public security.

According to Numbeo’s separate Crime and Safety Indexes, Abu Dhabi emerged as the world’s safest city, scoring 88.2 on the Safety Index and recording the lowest crime index globally at just 11.8. Dubai also performed strongly, ranking fifth among the world’s safest cities.

Other countries in the region also placed well. Saudi Arabia and Bahrain took the 14th and 15th spots respectively, while Kuwait, Jordan, and Pakistan followed further down the list. The Philippines and India were nearly neck-and-neck, ranking 66th and 67th respectively.

In contrast, the United Kingdom ranked 86th with 51.6 points, while the United States followed at 91st with 50.8 points.
