Rain brings relief to UAE residents as showers hit parts of the country

After weeks of intense summer heat, some parts of the UAE finally welcomed long-awaited rainfall on Wednesday, July 16, offering a refreshing break for residents.

The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) confirmed that areas in Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, and Ajman experienced rainfall ranging from light drizzles to heavy showers. In some parts of Ras Al Khaimah, particularly Wadi Al Khor and Wadi El Ejeili, the downpour was intense enough to bring hail along with it.

Wadi El Helo in Sharjah and the Khor Fakkan road heading toward Shees reported light to moderate rain. Meanwhile, heavy rain fell in certain parts of Ajman, providing a cool change from the soaring temperatures.

Rain enthusiasts across the UAE documented the event online, sharing clips of raindrops hitting the ground and hail collecting in rocky terrains. One video showed residents picking up hailstones from Wadi El Ejeili, while another captured the rain pelting down on rocky surfaces in the same area.

Other clips showcased the showers sweeping through Ajman, especially along the Hatta Road towards Mazra’a and Masfout—sparking excitement and hope that more regions may soon receive similar relief.
