First Lady Liza Marcos not joining President’s US visit to meet Trump, Palace confirms

First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos will not be accompanying President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on his upcoming official visit to the United States for a meeting with President Donald Trump, Malacañang confirmed on Wednesday.

The confirmation came from Palace Press Officer Claire Castro during a radio interview on 105.9 True FM. When asked if the First Lady would join the trip scheduled from July 20 to 22, Castro simply answered, “Hindi po (No).” She did not provide any further explanation for her absence.

President Marcos’ upcoming trip marks his fifth visit to the US since taking office in 2022. The meeting with Trump was initially revealed by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and later verified by the Palace.

As of now, specific details about the President’s agenda and activities during his US visit remain undisclosed.
