MWO Dubai lists disqualification grounds for online contract verification applicants

As the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) in Dubai continues the pilot implementation of its Online Employment Contract Verification System, it has issued a critical reminder for applicants to carefully review their eligibility before proceeding—stressing that certain conditions will automatically disqualify them from applying.

The warning appears on the online platform before users can begin the application process, aiming to reduce disapproval rates and help OFWs avoid wasted time, payments, and delays.

Among the key disqualification grounds are applicants who are not holding an employment visa. This includes those under investor, partner, dependent, student, or visit visas. Only employment visa holders are allowed to proceed with contract verification.

Another restriction applies to those earning a basic salary below AED 1,500, or domestic workers under the age of 24. Additionally, OFWs whose visa designation falls under seabased occupations—such as seaman, steward, boat driver, or deckhand—are not qualified for this specific system, which is designed strictly for land-based workers in the UAE.

Applicants engaged in visa trading, or those whose actual employer does not match the name on their visa sponsor, will also be disqualified. Domestic workers who are on company visas, and individuals who do not hold a legitimate freelance visa, are similarly excluded.

Other disqualifying conditions include:

If your visa sponsor no longer has an active office or license

If your company has violations or is blocked by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE)

If you are not receiving your salary through the Wages Protection System (WPS) or directly into your bank account

The DMW and MWO emphasized that these checks are necessary to uphold labor standards and ensure that only legitimate, protected, and eligible workers benefit from the convenience of the online platform.

The system, launched in partnership with DataFlow Group, allows OFWs in the UAE to submit employment documents digitally and receive verified contract reports within three working days, provided all requirements are met and payments are completed—including the AED 21.50 convenience fee and AED 40.00 verification fee.

Applications are capped at 200 successful submissions per day, with the submission portal opening every Monday to Friday at 8:00 AM. OFWs are reminded to complete the eKYC identity verification after payment to finalize their application.
