Abu Dhabi Police have issued a renewed warning to drivers who fail to give way to faster vehicles, especially in the overtaking lane, stressing that violators will face a fine of AED 400.
The advisory comes as part of the “Darb Al Salama 2” traffic safety campaign, which aims to promote responsible driving behavior and reduce road accidents across the emirate.
Authorities reminded motorists to keep right when driving at low speeds and avoid lingering in the fast lane, a common cause of congestion and confusion among road users. Drivers were also urged not to overtake from the right side—a risky move that could lead to serious collisions.
“Drivers must give way to vehicles approaching from behind or the left,” the police stressed, adding that failure to do so not only disrupts traffic flow but poses a real danger on the roads.
The campaign also emphasized the importance of using turn signals and ensuring the road is clear before making any lane changes, all in the name of maintaining safety for everyone behind the wheel.
