How OFWs in the UAE can now verify contracts online—what you need to know

Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in the United Arab Emirates can now verify their employment contracts online, marking a major step forward in easing bureaucratic processes and safeguarding worker welfare. The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) officially launched today, July 7, the pilot run of its Online Employment Contract Verification Service—a first-of-its-kind initiative specifically designed for Filipinos working in the UAE.

The digital platform, developed in collaboration with global credential verification firm DataFlow Group, aligns with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s push to bring government services online and closer to the people. It allows OFWs to submit their contracts digitally and apply for their Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC)—a mandatory travel requirement—without physically going to the Migrant Workers Office (MWO).

Described as a game-changer, the system is expected to ease the burden on both Filipino workers and the MWO staff. “This online contract verification service is a game-changer for our kababayans in the UAE,” said Atty. John Rio A. Bautista, Labor Attaché of MWO Dubai. “It’s about giving OFWs confidence and convenience—ensuring their vital documents are verified quickly and securely, from wherever they are.”

While the online system is now live at dmw.dataflowgroup.com, OFWs still have the option to undergo traditional in-person contract verification at the MWOs, depending on their preference and specific needs.

The initiative carries real significance. A verified contract is not just a formality—it serves as proof of legal employment and is essential for obtaining the OEC, which protects Filipino workers under Philippine labor laws while overseas. With this new system, the DMW aims to eliminate the risk of fraudulent documents, streamline verification processes, and significantly reduce the need for physical queues and repeated visits.

Sunil Kumar, CEO of DataFlow Group, underscored the partnership’s mission. “We are proud to partner with the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and Migrant Workers Offices (MWO) in this transformative initiative. It aligns with our vision of empowering talent to pursue careers without borders — built on trust and transparency.”

He added, “This service makes it easier, faster, and safer for Overseas Filipino Workers to access the support they need during their employment. It also reflects the Philippine government’s strong commitment to digital inclusion.”

The launch of this service not only boosts efficiency but also helps the DMW handle more cases with fewer resources, while improving data security and reducing human error. Importantly, the project comes at no cost to the Philippine government, thanks to its partnership with the private sector.
