Former President Rodrigo Duterte has no plans to sell his longtime residence in Doña Luisa Village, Davao City, despite a “For Sale” sign being spotted on the property, according to his son, Davao City First District Representative Paolo Duterte.
The younger Duterte said he spoke with his father during a recent visit to the International Criminal Court Detention Center and asked about the sign that drew speculation online.
“We asked him if he’s selling the house—he said absolutely not,” Paolo said in an ABS-CBN News report. “That house was the first one he ever bought with his own money, and he has no intention of giving it up.”
The house, a symbol of the elder Duterte’s early years before entering national politics, reportedly holds deep sentimental value. While no further details were given about the sign or who placed it, Paolo Duterte made it clear: “Dili gyud siya gusto nga ibaligya na”—he really doesn’t want to sell it.
