Basketball fans were in for a treat last September 30 as OG Dayo Series went head-to-head with PBA Motoclub at the Shabab Al Ahli Club in Al Qusais, Al Nahda 1. At the game’s conclusion, OG Dayo emerged victorious with a score of 122, besting PBA Motoclub’s 116.
OG Dayo, initially recognized for their captivating performances in local “ligang-labas” games and YouTube displays, brings with them a history of acclaim. With roots from the Mav’s Phenomenal Basketball team, which boasts a remarkable following of three million, the team is no stranger to attention.
Coach Gelo (Mark Angelo M. Terminez) leads the squad, with standout players like Bebe (Mac Austine M. Terminez), Chard (Richard Velchez), and Kyt (Krystoffe Mauricio Jimenez) offering both expertise and charm on the court.
On the other side was PBA Motoclub, established in 2020, with a roster comprising both ex and current PBA players and notable figures from the Philippines National Team.
With a considerable fan base of four hundred thousand and active participation on social media, they brought not just talent, but a significant fan presence.
Their lineup is adorned with stars like Rico Maierhofer, Jayjay Helterbrand, and Marc Pingris, all set to display their exceptional basketball prowess.
