Philippines grants visa-free entry to Indian nationals starting June 8

The Philippine Consulate General in Dubai has officially announced the implementation of a new visa-free policy for Indian nationals, effective June 8, 2025, in a move to promote tourism and strengthen diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Under the new guidelines, Indian passport holders may now enter the Philippines without a visa under two conditions:

Indian nationals can enjoy a 14-day visa-free stay for tourism purposes, provided they present a passport valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay, confirmed hotel accommodation, proof of financial capacity, and a return or onward ticket to another destination. This stay is non-extendible and non-convertible to other visa categories.

Meanwhile, those holding valid and current visas or residence permits from AJACSSUK countries—namely the United States, Japan, Australia, Canada, Schengen states, Singapore, and the United Kingdom—are eligible for a 30-day visa-free stay in the Philippines, subject to the same entry requirements.

“These updated visa-free privileges for Indian nationals may be availed of at any Philippine port of entry,” the consulate advisory emphasized. However, it reiterated that these are not convertible to visa-based stays and cannot be used for other admission purposes.

Indian nationals must also ensure they have no derogatory record with the Philippine Bureau of Immigration (BI) to qualify for visa-free entry.

For long-term visits or purposes beyond tourism, including employment or study, Indian travelers are still required to apply for an appropriate visa through the Philippine Embassy or Consulate in their country of residence.

The announcement comes as the Philippines continues to ease entry rules and boost international arrivals, aligning with its goal to position the country as a more accessible and inclusive travel destination for global tourists.
