UAE citizens granted visa-free 90-day stay in Japan starting June 2025

Emirati citizens can now enjoy longer stays in Japan, with the allowed visit duration extended to 90 days starting June 1, 2025. This marks a significant increase from the previous 30-day limit, underscoring the growing diplomatic and economic ties between the UAE and Japan.

The announcement was made by the UAE Embassy in Japan, which emphasized that the new regulation is expected to promote stronger engagement in tourism, trade, education, and cultural collaboration between the two nations.

The extended stay period also reflects the increasing global recognition of the Emirati passport, which continues to rank among the world’s most powerful. UAE citizens currently enjoy visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to more than 180 countries.

This latest development signals both nations’ commitment to strengthening their long-standing partnership and promoting smoother mobility for their people.
