Brunei, Malaysia, and Indonesia have officially declared the dates for Eid Al Adha 2025, with the announcement hinging on the sighting—or absence—of the crescent moon that marks the beginning of Dhu Al Hijjah.
In Brunei and Malaysia, authorities confirmed that the crescent moon was not sighted on Tuesday evening, making Wednesday, May 28, the concluding day of Dhu Al Qadah. As a result, Dhu Al Hijjah will begin on Thursday, May 29, with Eid Al Adha set to be celebrated on Saturday, June 7.
Meanwhile, Indonesia took a different direction, declaring that Dhu Al Hijjah will commence a day earlier—on Wednesday, May 28—meaning that Eid Al Adha will fall on Friday, June 6.
