Saudi labor officials visit OWWA to boost training standards for future Filipino domestic workers

A delegation from Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD) – Musaned, led by Worker Excellence Senior Director Hon. Sahal Mokthar, visited the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Central Office on May 5 to strengthen collaboration on the deployment of Filipino domestic workers to the Kingdom.

The meeting focused on enhancing the readiness and protection of future overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) through stricter pre-departure training, improved assessments, and certification procedures. These initiatives aim to better safeguard their welfare and ensure fair working conditions upon arrival in Saudi Arabia.

The delegation was warmly welcomed by OWWA Deputy Administrator Atty. Mary Melanie Quiño, along with Atty. Sherilyn Malonzo, Director of the 24/7 Operations Center; NCR Regional Director Ma. Teresa Capa; and Head of the Legal Office Atty. Anna Jacobo.
