About 80 community leaders, colleagues, and members of various organizations across Bahrain came together on April 29, 2025, to honor the remarkable life and legacy of Dinah Sta. Ana, president of Pinay Ikaw Na (PIN), on her 65th birthday. The occasion recognized her lasting dedication to leadership, service, and empowerment of Filipino migrant workers in Bahrain.
Hosted at Al Maha Ballroom, Downtown Rotana, Manama the event was graced by the presence of Philippine Ambassador to Bahrain, Her Excellency Anne Jalando-on Louis who extended her greeting to the celebrant. In attendance were Migrant Workers Office (MWO) Officer in Charge, Celia V. Cabadonga; Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Welfare Officer, Juvilyn Anns Gumabay and Cultural Attache, Jiemarie F. Mortel-Ladrica.






Ms. Sta. Ana showed exceptional leadership and played a crucial role in empowering Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Bahrain. She inspired many individuals with her unshakeable commitment and vision, motivated them to work for the community and further the cause
Attendees shared stories of impact, presented special recognitions, and enjoyed a cultural program highlighting the values Dinah has championed throughout her career.






The commemoration united different voices and testimonies, which expressed the depth of Dinah’s impact towards others, bearing witness to the widespread assistance she has had in many lives.
During the celebration, Cecil V. Ancheta, president of Filipino Writers’ Circle shared her message of appreciation. ‘’I got to know Dinah in 2014 when both of us became engaged in the formation of a women’s organization. It was clear right from the beginning that Dinah is hardworking and benevolent. Her dedication towards public service and giving help has never lost momentum. Dinah demonstrated that the true value of life is realized through diligent effort on the issues pertinent to our times.’’





Meanwhile, Yvonne Villamor, a passionate advocate for Filipino migrants’ welfare imparted how their paths crossed. “We were both involved in assisting OFWs, but in different capacities, I remember distinctly how we started referring fellow OFW cases, especially those who were battling cancer.”
A colorful and lively display of traditional Filipino dance ‘’Bulaklak’’ was presented during the cultural performance by members of Pinay Ikaw Na enhancing vibrancy to the event and showcasing the rich heritage of the Philippines.
During the program, a special tribute video recapping her journey as a leader, mentor, and role model to many was presented during the gathering. Messages from her siblings across the globe—Elizabeth, Purificacion, Lolita, Myrna, and Edgardo—were shared through video messages, conveying their heartfelt greetings and expressing their love and admiration for Dinah.
Surrounded by her two doctor daughters Sarah and Zainab, she was incredibly grateful as she blew out the candles on her birthday cake.
Representatives from the Filipino Business Council Bahrain, Las Damas de Rizal, Good Cause Bahrain, and the Filipino Club Bahrain, along with members of Lagooners and Cafemilya, were present at the ceremony.
Reflecting on the celebration, Dinah expressed her dedication in empowering women and building community relationships. Under her leadership, Pinay Ikaw Na continues to be a leading voice for Filipino women in Bahrain, actively promoting welfare, charitable work and programs, professional growth, and cultural pride.
Pin is the largest organization of Filipino women in Bahrain and is working hand in hand with the Philippine Embassy Manama.
