The Philippine Nursing World Congress (PNWC) 2025 is set to gather over 500 nursing professionals from across the globe in Davao City from June 25 to 27, putting the spotlight on the far-reaching contributions of Filipino nurses in the international healthcare arena.
With the theme “Bridging Cultures, Elevating Care: The Global Impact of Filipino Nurses,” the congress aims to celebrate Filipino nurses’ influence—not just as frontline caregivers but as leaders, educators, and innovators in the field of healthcare. From hospitals in the Middle East to care facilities in the West, Filipino nurses have long been recognized for their compassion, resilience, and leadership.
“This congress is a timely opportunity to reflect on how we can elevate nursing care globally and address healthcare disparities,” said Dr. Jeanette Jacinto Ignacio of the National University of Singapore, one of the event’s keynote speakers.
Also delivering keynote addresses are Professor Edna Magpanty-Monroe of Hawaii Pacific University and Professor Violeta Lopez of Central Queensland University and the Filipino Nursing Diaspora Network. Professor Lopez underscored the value of international collaboration, saying, “This congress will provide a platform for sharing innovative ideas and fostering collaborations that transcend cultural and geographical boundaries.”
For Dr. Patria Manalaysay, head of the Pacific Nursing Service Organization, the event is not only a celebration but also a forward-looking initiative. “It’s about shaping the future of nursing practice by working closely with our global peers to drive innovation in healthcare,” she said.
Supported by respected institutions such as the Filipino Nursing Diaspora Network, Holy Angel University, Sigma Theta Tau’s Psi Beta Chapter, and the Rozzano Locsin Institute, the event is poised to be one of the largest international gatherings dedicated to Filipino nursing professionals. Global Filipino Magazine and Celebes Nursing Journal will also provide media coverage.
The PNWC 2025 will offer participants the chance to showcase research, share best practices, and collaborate on solving critical health challenges. Organizers hope to foster an atmosphere of cultural exchange and learning, aimed at promoting healthcare equity and global cooperation.
Early registration is now open, with discounted rates available until May 15, 2025. More details can be found at www.philnursingworldcongress.com.
Far more than just a professional conference, PNWC 2025 is envisioned as a global movement—bringing together nursing leaders to unite, inspire, and shape the future of care worldwide.
