It was a heartwarming sight as the world’s tallest and shortest living dogs met for the first time this April in Idaho, creating what many are calling a “pawfect” moment.
Great Dane Reggie from Idaho and Chihuahua Pearl from Florida were brought together by Guinness World Records (GWR), who confirmed the dogs’ remarkable size difference—an astounding 91.56 cm, or about three feet.
Standing tall at 3 feet 3 inches (1.007 meters), Reggie holds the title of the tallest living male dog. Pearl, on the other hand, is just 3.59 inches (9.14 cm) high, making her the shortest living dog in the world.
The two posed for adorable photos indoors and outside Reggie’s home, as part of a special feature celebrating GWR’s 70th anniversary.
Pearl’s owner, Vanessa Semler, expressed the emotional connection many people feel toward their pets, saying, “They’re part of the family.” Meanwhile, Reggie’s owner, Sam Johnson Reiss, shared, “If Reggie gives happiness to any one person, that will be great for him and that will make him happy.”
Their unlikely friendship has since captured the hearts of animal lovers around the world.
